10:00 - 16:00 (EEST)

Location: University of Cyprus and online

The second ETIP SNET Regional Workshop of 2026, “Skills for the Energy Transition – Upskilling the Southern Europe Energy Workforce”, is dedicated to South-Eastern Europe.

The workshop will explore how the energy transition is not only a technological transformation but also a profound skills transformation. As digitalisation reshapes the energy system through artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cybersecurity, and advanced energy management systems, the workforce must evolve accordingly. Particular attention will be given to region-specific challenges such as rapid renewable energy integration and sector coupling.

The workshop brings together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, research institutions, and students from Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Romania, and Slovenia to explore:

  • What skills will be critical by 2030?
  • Where are the biggest gaps today?
  • How can we redesign education and training to close the identified skill gaps?

The event will be held in a hybrid format, in person at the University of Cyprus and with the option for online participation.

It offers a unique opportunity to network with Southern European energy stakeholders, exchange best practices, and contribute to shaping future skills strategies and policy discussions at the European level.

Consult the agenda and additional information for in-person participation.

Register here by 11 May.

N.B. The timezone is set to Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) - 9:00 CET.
