Energy Communities' Impact on Grids
ETIP SNET and ISGAN are pleased to invite the energy community to an event taking place during CIGRE 2024, a collaborative global community committed to the world's leading knowledge development program for the creation and sharing of power system expertise.
During the event, the paper titled Energy Communities' Impact on Grids, authored by ETIP SNET's Working Group 1 in collaboration with ISGAN, will be discussed. The focus will be on the role of energy communities for Distribution System Operators (DSOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs). The discussion will explore how energy communities can harness consumer flexibility to better integrate renewable resources and new technologies while fulfilling their responsibilities and obligations.
Key topics include:
- How can Energy Communities become reliable actors in the landscape of energy stakeholders?
- How can DSOs be the hub between TSOs and Energy Communities in the new electricity era?
- Which of the following market development trends will promote Energy Communities and the energy transition process; and how?
- Adaptation of existing market structures through different platforms and tariffs.
- Redesign of market structure: The rise of the local market.
- Is there the need to perform an assessment of existing "smart grid" concepts to create clarity and bundle resources to accelerate the energy transition?
Q&A with the public is foreseen throughout the event.
