The European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) is a key stepping-stone to boost the transition towards a climate-neutral energy system through the development of low-carbon technologies in a fast and cost-competitive way. Established in 2007 and since the creation of the energy union in 2015, it became one of the main instruments of the energy union’s 5th pillar on research, innovation and competitiveness.
During the online session experts from the European Commission (DG ENER, DG RTD and JRC) who will present:
- The SET Plan’s objectives and structure, including its Implementation Working Groups (IWGs) and European Technology and Innovation Platforms (ETIPs).
- Cross-cutting task forces with a focus on Access to Market.
- The recent revision of the SET Plan to align with the European Green Deal, REPowerEU, and the Net-Zero Industry Act.
- Financing instruments supporting the deployment of SET Plan technologies.
