EIRIE – the European Interconnection for Research Innovation & Entrepreneurship, is an initiative hosted by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission with the ambition of creating an interactive meeting point for all European energy system actors that contribute to achieving a carbon-free system by 2050.
Conceived within the frame of the PANTERA project, EIRIE’s vision is to create, through a planned multi-functional collaborative platform – connecting several databases and platforms into one, an operational reference point to unify European activity, incentivize further investments in smart grids and support access to exploitable results that can spark further work and cooperation capable of bridging the existing innovation gaps.
Through EIRIE, the stakeholders active in the field of energy research and innovation will enjoy access to the following functionalities and tools:

The platform is already closely collaborating with major networks and stakeholders in the energy space, notably the European Commission and important stakeholders such as JRC (EC Joint Research Centre), ETIP SNET (ETIP Smart Networks for Energy Transition) and ERA-Net SES (ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems) to make EIRIE a true success.
