People reunited in a room for an event
Monday. 11 December 2023

From November 27 to 29, 2023, ETIP SNET actively participated in Enlit Europe, an international event dedicated to connecting industries, inspiring action, and contributing to the evolution of a decarbonized and digitalized energy system.

During this pivotal industry event, several ETIP SNET members played key roles as moderators and speakers in lively sessions within the EU Project Zone (EUPZ) and beyond.

Among the many valuable contributions, Natalie Samovich, Co-Chair of WG1 (Reliable, economic and efficient energy system), led a session focused on Energy Data Spaces, a key topic of the conference. The discussion delved into best practices for data sharing to foster an efficient, competitive market for a cyber-secure and sustainable digital energy infrastructure. Noteworthy EU projects such as PHOENIX H2020, BuiltHub, Smart2B, BEYOND, PRECEPT, and frESCO were actively involved in the session focusing on Buildings.

Elena Boskov Kovacs, Chair of ETIP SNET WG4 (Digitalisation of the eletricity system and customer participation), moderated a session in the context of the ebalanceplus project, exploring the intricate world of energy flexibility solutions, revealing insights from the distribution grid to end-users' premises. The session also addressed the new EU Action Plan for Grids, emphasizing the urgent need for more efficient and faster grid development in the region. Santiago Gallego Amores, Chair of WG1 (Reliable, economic and efficient energy system), highlighted the unprecedented alignment of market needs between DSOs and aggregators, presenting a unique opportunity for accelerated change.

Luis Cunha, Co-Chair of ETIP SNET, was one of the speakers at the Enlit Summit in the session on SET Plan: Digitalisation and the Green Deal - Empowering the Energy Transition on November 28. We met him at the ETIP SNET/BRIDGE stand and asked him why is it important to participate in ETIP SNET. He said:

"The main aim of ETIP SNET is to develop the smart networks that will support the energy transition. We need to ensure the development of necessary tools, the solutions and technologies to make sure that energy transition happens. And that is why we think it is very important that in ETIP SNET we count on all stakeholders."

The joint presence with the BRIDGE initiative at the stand highlighted the significant role of ETIP SNET in shaping discussions around advancing the energy transition. The stand served as a meeting point for stakeholders and projects in the energy sector, fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and addressing challenges in the ongoing energy transition.

In this transformative journey towards a sustainable energy future, as remarked by the Luis Cunha, Co-Chair of ETIP SNET, all stakeholders are invited to engage with this initiative. Your participation is integral to shaping the innovative solutions that will define our energy landscape.
