ETIP SNET is organized in five Working Groups (WG), covering the main and focal aspect of the ETIP SNET platform, devoted to the transition toward a decarbonized energy system.

  • WG1 – Reliable, economic and efficient smart grid system;
  • WG2 – Storage technologies and sector interfaces;
  • WG3 – Flexible Generation;
  • WG4 – Digitisation of the electricity system and Customer participation;
  • WG5 – Innovation implementation in the business environment.

Each WG is structured in a number of Experts, ranging from around 20 to 60 members (periodically upgraded), coordinated by a Chair and two Co-Chairs subject to rotation according to the  ETIP SNET rules. The more recent changing concerned the Chair off the WG2 and one Co-Chairs of WG 1, 3 and 5. Here we present the activities foreseen in each Working Group for 2019.

Common work of the ETIP SNET WGs during 2019

Each WG is engaged in  some common Topics of the ETIP SNET Action Plan for 2019, and has elaborated a proper warplane to move its activity accordingly. The contribution of each WGs depends on the competence and skill of its Experts. Some WG has been structured in “Task Forces”, devoted to specific Topics to make it contribution more effective. The main fields of common work include:

  • Supporting the diffusion of the Vision at 2050, elaborated during the 2018;
  • Elaborating a R&I Roadmap for 2010-2030;
  • Elaborating the Implementation Plan (IP) to implement the RM for the years 2020-2023;
  • Contribution to Project monitoring and Regional Workshop. This important Topic is finalized to the contribution at Regional Workshops with intervention in the specific fields of operation of each WG;

The above Topics are faced by organising periodical web meetings and focused physical meetings, usually in occasion of relevant events of dissemination also according to the deadline of the milestones of the  ETIP SNET Action Plan for 2019
