ETIP SNET and BRIDGE to be presented at INNOGRID2020+

ETIP SNET and the BRIDGE initiative will be introduced at INNOGRID2020+, the electricity network innovation event happening today and tomorrow, 26th-27th June.

InnoGrid2020+ ,  one of the most important  EU events on innovation in electricity networks starts today (26th June).  It is organised by The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) and the European Distribution System Operators for Smart Grids (EDSO) and attracts high profile stakeholders in the energy sector. The sixth edition of the event will focus on the arising network of networks, where power grids and transport, telecom and IT, digital and physical link up in an unprecedented manner.

The European Technology and Innovation Platform Smart Networks for Energy Transition (ETIP SNET) is a platform dedicated to making sure that Europe’s Research and Innovation facilitates all energy customers and market actors to rely on optimally integrated networks, systems and markets. At the session “Setting priorities for Smart Grid research – ETIP SNET new implementation plan” at 9.30 am on 27th June, ETIP SNET Chair Konstantin Staschus, and Nikos Hatziargyriou, ETIP SNET Vice-Chair and Board Member for EDSO for Smart Grids; will introduce the platform at the event.

The BRIDGE initiative – a European Commission initiative which unites Horizon 2020 Smart Grid and Energy Storage Projects to create a structured view of cross-cutting issues which are encountered in the demonstration projects  – will also be presented by DG Energy Policy Officer Remy Denos of the European Commission at a session entitled “Accelerating the integration of flexibility solutions – the BRIDGE initiative” at 9.40 am on 27th June.
