REGISTRATION OPEN: Joint Research Centre and ETIP SNET Workshop on Smart Grids R&I Priorities, November 23-24, Cyprus

The European Commission Joint Research Center (JRC), the European Technology and Innovation Platform for Smart Networks for Energy Transition (ETIP SNET) and the FOSS Research Centre for Sustainable Energy of the University of Cyprus will host a Workshop on Smart Grids R&I priorities, to be held on November 23-24 in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Are you a representative of: a university, a technology center, an energy utility, a distribution or transmission system operator, a technology provider, a funding authority, a ministry, a regulator, a national platform?

Are you active in the field of: Smart Grid Systems? Storage? Interfaces between electricity and heat, gas and transport? Flexible thermal and renewable generation? Digitization? Customer participation?

Are you interested in projects from: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Romania or Slovenia?

Then join the JRC and ETIP SNET Workshop on Smart Grids in Cyprus, where you will be able to meet with relevant national and EU stakeholders to discuss the priorities related to Smart Grids set out in the European Commission proposal for a new electricity market design, to exchange about the role of the Smart Specialization Platform on Energy (S3PEnergy) and of the regional innovation policy activities, to contribute to the prioritization of Smart Grids related R&I topics. A session will be dedicated to challenges specific to Islands.

The Workshop will provide a unique opportunity to:

  • Know more about smart grids projects and their findings related to energy system integration issues;
  • Exchange experiences, recommendations and best practices during technical roundtable discussions
  • Discuss the deployment perspectives as well as the remaining challenges and barriers
