On the 21st of March 2018, an interactive ETIP SNET Workshop on the draft version of the Vision 2050 publication was held in Brussels. Experts with an interest in ETIP SNET Working Group activities and willing to shape future European research priorities in those fields were invited to attend and provide feedback on the proposed draft.
One of the core activities of the ETIP SNET in the year 2018, is the launch of the Vision 2050 document. This document will serve as reference for the whole energy sector in defining how the electricity, gas and heat/cooling sectors and their integration should evolve in order to meet the future overall energy system needs of the European society in the horizon of 2050 (social, environmental, economic, technical, security and quality of supply challenges, transmission, distribution, conversion and storage needs, etc.). The vision will focus on technology and innovation transformations needed to achieve this transition.
